4th of July Weekend

Tyler on his 1st day of work

Tyler & the bear

On Saturday the Butterworth family minus Travis, Brandi, & Kam (who we missed so much) went up to West Yellowstone to go to the Playmill and walk around. It was so fun to just take a day and spend with the family in the nice sun!

Tyler & I (Yes the bear is taller than I am)
On the 4th (Monday) the twins and Steve went golfing and the girls all went and watched the parade with Grandma and Grandpa Howell. I forgot to take my camera, but it was pretty fun and we be very memorable. Afterwards Tyler and I went to the river and went and looked at all of the little shops. There were so many people so we just hurried through that part. I hadn't ever walked around the whole Snake River and seen the gorgeous falls, so we decided to do that. It was kind of a bad idea because I ended up getting blisters, but it was so worth it. The view is so INCREDIBLE!! :)

Later that day we headed over to Grandpa Butterworth's for a BBQ and to watch the fireworks from his house. Now I have seen some fireworks in my day, but HOLY COW the fireworks in Idaho Falls are the best that I have seen. It is pretty crazy. Every firework was like the grand finale of the Burley firework show. (haha!) It was a great way to spend the 4th of July!! :)

A pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!

May and June were very cold and rainy months here in Logan. Tyler and I did a lot of applying for jobs and Tyler did a lot of interviewing. We were beginning to wonder if we were supposed to find jobs. After one of the rainstorms this gorgeous rainbow appeared. It was really beautiful and made me reflect on life and everything that Tyler and I have been blessed with so far. The next day Tyler came home from working at Ashley Furniture and told me he had been offered a job at Wells Fargo in Idaho Falls. As a little child you are always told that there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, well I felt like we had found that pot of gold. Tyler accepted the job offer and started on Friday. He is really enjoying it. And the best part is he only has to work ONE job now!! :) :)

Thank you Utah State....

I have finished my four years at Utah State and am walking away with a DEGREE. As a little girl I always dreamed of going to college. I wished my life away to leave home and become a BIG girl. Now that it has finally happened it is so crazy how fast four years can go. During those four years here in Logan at Utah State I grew as a person and learned so much.

*You saw me transfrom from a little high school girl to a college graduate
*You saw me develop a strong relationship with my brother and sister-in-law
*You saw me handle working full and part time while doing 16 or more credits every semester
*You saw me laugh and have a good time, but also witnessed the many tears of stress and missing my family
*You helped me develop a strong testimony
*You showed me that the church is the same no matter where you go
*You helpd my love for children grow to another level
*You brought people into my life that will forever be my friends
*You witnessed me fail a few times, but never give up and continue on towards success
*You gave me the opportunity to stay here in Logan over the summer and help me truly find the person I needed to become
*You saw me handle 30 little 3-year olds and fall in love with them
*You saw me skip four days of school to travel from Utah to Virginia in a car and make my first flight by myself all the way back home
*You saw me fall in love, become engaged, and get married
*You saw me become an aunt not once, but twice
*You saw me student teach 3rd graders and 4th graders and have the experience of a lifetime
*You saw me walk from Old Main down to the Spectrum and recieve my degree

*I will miss the late night girl talks
*I will miss the Aggie football games (even though they weren't very successful, they were still fun)
*I will miss Aggie Basketball: brought sports to a whole new level for me
*I will miss seeing all of my ELED friends every day
*I will miss walking through tons of snow just to get to my 7:30 AM classes
*I will miss hurrying out to the bus to make it to class on time
*I will miss the energy that I was given to stay up all night and do clean checks and then go and take a final the next morning

***THANK YOU UTAH STATE FOR ALL OF THE MEMORIES :) :)

And the day has come...

Tomorrow is my last and final day of being a college student. I will be finishing up my student teaching and my education at Utah State University. It really hit me today in class that it is time to start making grown up decisions and real life has hit. The stress of trying to find a job that is right for the both of us has hit. My immune system has also shut down. At least it is happening NOW and not while I was trying to take care of the 29 energetic 4th graders. It has been really hard to be motivated to go to school this last three days. I thought senioritis was bad in high school, I think it is much worse in college. I have really enjoyed my student teaching at Birch Creek. It has been a blast.  They have really put the bar high for the school that I end up at.
Tyler and I went up to campus to take a few pictures of me with my cap and gown. Brandi's sister, Jamie, took them and she did an awesome job. She also made Tyler take a few with me. I am going to treasure those pictures forever. I mean come on if you attend USU, you have to have a picture on the A! Its just tradition! :)

A New Butterworth in the Family!!!

A couple weeks ago Tyler and I headed to Idaho Falls to go to his little brother Trevor's wedding. He married the cutest girl ever. Her name is Crystal and we just love her. I am so blessed to have some of the greatest sister in laws on both sides of the family. Their wedding and reception was absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of the bride or Tyler and I. But we did manage to get a few others.

I am on the countdown of my student teaching now. I only have 13 days left. That is keeping out this next week because it is Spring Break. This 2nd block has been a real struggle for me, completely different from what I had the first round, but I couldn't be more grateful for the frustrations and conflicts I have had. It has taught me that teaching isn't a perfect carbon copy every year. I am glad I have found that out now instead of after I get a job.
Tyler is still working both of his jobs and keeping the house in order. I hate to admit it, but he has taken over being the house wife practically. On his days off he does the laundry and cleans the house. I am super embarrassed to admit that, but he is such a great husband to do what he needs to do, so I can spend countless hours at school and at home planning.

Travis and Kambrie. She was so happy!
Kambrie loves her Uncle Tyler,
I can't imagine why!

The table decorations. Her colors looked so cool together.

Their AMAZING cake.

Just a Little Update

Its been a while since I have update our blog.
We have been pretty busy lately. Tyler is being such a huge supporter in our family.
We don't see each other often, but what else can ya do?! :)
Tyler is busily applying for jobs, so that he can have a "REAl" job. Its crazy to think that we are at that point in our life.
I just finished up my first block of student teaching. It was such a great experience. I was in a 3rd grade
classroom and it was so hard to leave them on Wednesday. Each of them helped
me so much in answering all of my questions of why I want to be a teacher.
I loved going everyday to see their bright smiling faces. I had a few students tell me everyday that
they really enjoyed eating me on their pancakes every morning. I thought it would get
old, but it always just made me giggle. I have forgotten that I have a first name and a maiden name. I almost go to introduce myself to others by saying, "Hi, I am Mrs. Butterworth." I have to rethink
a few times and then try again. Believe me I don't want everyone to call me
Mrs. Butterworth, but it is quite funny to hear the comments the kids gave the first few days
I started.
I start tomorrow in a 4th grade classroom. I am a little nervous because I have to learn all new routines, but I am so excited to be able to try everything that I just learned the past 7 weeks on a new set of kids.

Here are a few pictures from the past couple of months.

My first bulletin board. I definitely have room for improvement.
