MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Tyler and I had a great first Christmas. We left Logan on Christmas Eve and headed to Idaho Falls. We went to the Howell Christmas Eve Party and then spent the evening in Idaho Falls. We then drove on Christmas Day to Burley and spent a few hours with my family and went to the big Harman Christmas Day party. Tyler then had to head back to Logan, so he could go to work at 4 AM today. I stayed and will be staying with my family for a few days. There was a lot of traveling this Christmas, but I wouldn't have done it any different. It was great being able to spend the holdiays with both of our families. I can't wait until I get to call the Butterworth's my family. They are GREAT!!

Saturday was a GREAT day! :)

On Saturday Tyler and I made a little adventure to Salt Lake. Of course the Dallas Cowboys were playing that night, so going to see the lights at Temple Square was not the only thing we were going to go and do. However, it took us a little longer to get out of Logan, than we both had planned, so we stopped in Layton at Iggy's Sports Grill to watch the game. It was great and I think i may end up becoming a Cowboys fan. Not because I like them, but because Tyler is a lot happier when they win. At halftime the Cowboys were winning by quite a ways, so I begged Tyler to let us leave. We made a compromise of leaving Iggy's if I would read him the updates of the game to him that I was getting on my phone.

After the Cowboys game was over and Tyler was done celebrating we made the cold trek across Salt Lake to go and look at the lights. I was so excited. Tyler had never been before and I was so excited to be able to share this moment with him. It was a little bit foggy that night and it just made the lights and the temple look more beautiful. I love the Salt Lake Temple and at Christmas Time it just looks even more beautiful.

The classic picture as soon as you walk in through the gates. I love it! :)

I had mentioned to Tyler at one time when we were just sitting and looking at the lights next to one of the fountains there that I thought it was cheesey when guys purposed on Temple Square. I had meant that everybody does it, so I just thought that it was cheesey. He never really agreed with me he just explained to me that it showed a lot of symbolism. I agreed with him and we got up and walked away from that spot and continued walking around Temple Square.

This was the only picture Tyler and I got that night of us together. We asked the lady to please get the Temple in it, but I guess you can't be too picky right?!?

I had such a great time and I didn't think it could have gone any better. I had such a great time walking around and sharing that GREAT feeling with Tyler.

On the way home we missed the Logan exit, so we took a bit of a detour, but I am not complaining! We didn't get back to my apartment until late and we were just sitting on the couch talking. I told Tyler that I was going to go and get in my pj's because it had been a long night. I went and got dressed and was just doing some other odds and ends. When I came out I asked Tyler if he wanted me to make him cinnamon rolls the next day. He said yes. I then when and opened up the fridge and found this bedazzled golf ball in my fridge.....

I immediately shut the fridge and looked at Tyler and said, "Are you for real, Tyler?" He said, "Well lets just open that fridge and see what is in there.." I took out the bedazzled golf ball and opened it and found.......

Yes this all happened right then and there in my apartment kitchen in my pajamas. I have never been so excited before in my life.

After he purposed to me and I calmed down a bit he explained that he was going to purpose to me at Temple Square because he knew it would take me by complete surprise because going there was my idea. However, "I" ruined that about FIVE SECONDS before he was going to purpose to me with the great comment of "I think its cheesey when....." I couldn't have felt more like a brat. But life is always exciting when I am around I guess.

The story of how we met was quite hilarious, so we couldn't have a boring engagement story. I feel so bad and I can't believe he still gave me the ring and wants to marry me after I did that. I felt horrible!

I am so excited to spend the rest of my life with Tyler! It is going to be a great adventure that I can't wait to start.

hApPy ThAnKsGiViNG! :)

Thanksgiving comes at a great time of year. It comes at the end and gives me time to reflect on everything that has happened throughout the whole year and realize that I have so much to be grateful for.
I have so much to be thankful for this year.

DAD: He is such a great man. I love him. I love his random texts to see how I am doing or his phone calls. It always makes me feel so great inside.
MOM: She should get paid for her job. This last year she has become my therapist. Thanks for always listening.
AJ and Summer: You two are the greatest. Thanks for being such great example to me and showing me that when trials are placed in front of you that anyone can make it through them.
Travis: Yes, he may be a little fart, but our home wouldn't be the same without him. He truly is a ball of fire and makes life fun and interesting in our home.
School and the Education Program: I am grateful that I didn't get into my program the first time because it taught me to be patient and see if there really was something out there for me. Of course I ended up getting in, but I needed to try and work a little harder. I am also grateful that I am able to attend school and get an education.
Religion: I am grateful that I have such a strong religion that I can lean back on and know that wherever I live or move to the church is the same and they are always so accepting of me.
Unanswered Prayers: I am grateful for this one as odd as it may seem, but I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for them. At the time I may have been frustrated, but now that I reflect back and see what I have now, I know I was being told what I needed to know.
Friends: I have made some of the greatest friends ever. I love them and their randomness. I didn't believe people when they told me you would make your best friends at college, but that has become true.
Lish: Thanks for being my best friend. She is like my little sister that I never had. Thanks for always being there Lisha when I just needed a shoulder to cry on, or tell you the most exciting news ever. This past month you have been there through everything for me. Thanks for the great example you have been to me too.
Tyler: I don't even know where to start....I am very grateful to have you in my life. You came just at the perfect time and everything has been perfect since. You put the biggest smile on my face. :) Thanks for always being there when I need to vent away about anything and everything.
Little Wonders: I am grateful to be able to have a job while I am going to school. I am so thankful for all the girls that are there and for the great friendships I have made there.

This is just a few of the things that I can name off, but there is so many small things, memories, laughing, crying, and many many more. It truly has been a great year and I have so much to be thankful for.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

So, a few months ago I did a post on my new dating strategy. Well obviously it worked because I have never been happier and I rarely don't spend a day without Tyler! Tyler is so amazing! He treats me like a queen and ever since I met him I have been floating on cloud 9! I don't think I will be coming off of that cloud anytime soon either! :)
Just to prove how amazing he is: I wasn't able to see Tyler on my birthday because he had to study for some exams and work both of his jobs, so I came home from work and I had flowers waiting for me on the counter. How sweet is that??
The past week I have spent a majority of my time in Idaho Falls where he is from with his family. I love them, they are so great!!! He has two great little sisters that definitely keep me laughing, but Brittney and Kallie would both agree with me that Trevor wins for being the funniest! :) He also has a twin brother and sister-in-law that live down here in Logan and it has been so nice to hang out with them and get to know them. His parents are also amazing! I will be spending Thanksgiving with his family this week too. I am quite excited about that. It will be my first Thanksgiving away from my family and I wouldn't want to spend it with any greater family. They are AWESOME!! There is nothing better than hanging out with the Butterworth Family! :)

lAzY and cRaZy Sundays!

Tyler and I after church
Tyler said that I didn't know how to make cookies so he had to show me how. That's okay I will let him cook from now on!

Sometimes Sundays can made you turn CRAZY!!

Utah State's Homecoming!

I always get so excited for Utah States Homecoming because that means that some of my favorite people come down to Logan to visit me. Nick and Melanie brought all of their kids and Paxton down to the game and the parade. I met them at the parade and enjoyed some good quality time with them and then Nick took me out to Cafe Sabor. Later we went to the game. I just love their little boys to death. I had a great time. Thanks for inviting me guys!! :)

SeCoNd ChAnCeS

On Monday I went and turned in my application again to apply to the Elementary Education Program. I was told that it was less competitive, so I might have a better chance getting in. That really boosted up my self-esteem when my advisor told me. I actually just wanted to take my application back and say, "Excuse me, is my application that bad?" haha!! I should find out in a couple weeks if I FAIL or not.

...nEw DaTiNg StRaTeGy: HITTNG on Boys...

So a week ago Saturday I went golfing with a really good friend of mine. His name is Nick and he lives in the same apartment complex as me and pretty much takes care of me. He is great! He told his friend that a girl was going to be coming and playing with them. They were all cool with this because I am a girl and they were ready to kick my trash. Then they found out I played on the golf team, but I let them know I hadn't played in a good two to three years. Their confidence built right back up.

Me and Nick

Well we get to hole one and this guy comes up and was like im golfing by myself can I join your group? They said yes and he golfed with us, but if you would like to know more about Mr. Creeper Craig ask me when I can tell you face to face. He was a CREEPER that is for sure. He knew a little too much about me than he should have known.

Anyways, hole number one: I step up and totally miss the ball. I calmed down and was like Tashie they are just boys, get your head together. I take a practice swing and try again and MISS again. Well I did this two more times and finally just picked up my ball and walked to the cart and said i was going to not play hole number one. I was so embarrassed. My body was shaking so bad because I was nervous and embarrassed and it was written clear across my face.

About, hole number 12: I hit the ball really really far and off to the side of the fairway. I get to my ball and realize that I have EIGHT trees standing in front of me and pretty much can't hit a straight shot. I take out my five iron and was going to pull the great shot that my dad taught me. The one where you just punch it low back to the left into the fairway where everything will be just fine. Well, that plan didn't go so well. I hit the tree right smack in the center and the ball came flying back and hit Nick's friend, Tyler, right in his arm. I was so embarrassed and couldn't believe what I had just done I ran to the cart and tried to hide. I apologized over and over and he kept telling me he was okay. It was great that I get to play the rest of the round with him, so not awkward at all.

Tylers mark three days later!! :( poor lil boy!

Well on Tuesday I get this text from a strange Idaho number that I have no idea who it is. I open it up and it says, "Hey Tasha, this is Tyler, I have no feeling in my arm and its about to fall off."

Well we talked for the next couple of days and on Thursday he asked me to go to the demolition derby with him. Now exactly how does that work, you beat a person and they ask their friend for your number and then ask you out on a date?!?! Its pretty crazy, if you ask me. Well of course I said yes, how could you say no to such a cute boy that you beat up. Although I do think he was pretty brave asking me to go with him. He must of realized that there would be no golf clubs or golf balls there so he would be safe.

Tyler and I at the demolition derby

That is pretty much the end of my story! Life is great! School may be a lil crazy at the moment, but I am so happy :) and just love LOGAN!

SuMmEr hAs EnDeD, aNd ScHooL iS iN fUlL SwInG!

Summer has officiallly ended for me. The month of August was a little too
crazy for me, but it made me reflect on LIFE and how great it is.
You never know where your life will take you or when it might be taken away from you.
At times like these I am so thankful for my family and how close we are to each other.
I am also so thankful for the great understand of eternal families that I have.

Trials come into our lives, but I have had to tell myself that my trials are quite small compared to others out there. Not getting into my program I though was a HUGE trial, but it is just a little bump in the road. I have decided to take some Family Consumer Human Development Courses this semester. I am really enjoying them. At this point I haven't made a final decision on a major or what I am going to do there. I have tossed around a few ideas, but nothing is set in stone.

I have the greatest roomates ever!! Two of them are from Burley and the other one is from Ogden. We don't get much sleep because we stay up until 3 in the morning just talking. Its great!! I have made some great friends since I stayed down in Logan this summer. I wouldn't have changed staying down here for anything. Logan has become my new home and if I ever leave here I think it is going to be hard and a part of my heart will stay there.

I am still working at the Daycare. I love the kids there so much. I came home for two weeks for a little vacation to clear my head and I missed my kids so much. I had the opportunity to work with the elementary aged kids. I grew to LOVE those kids. I asked to be able to work with them when I came back. It has been a little crazy with school starting up and the enrollment has picked up, so I haven't been able to work with them as much as I would like. Everyday when they come to the daycare though they find me and say hi and give me a hug. There is nothing that makes me feel better than that. I love these kids, they hold a huge part in my heart and my life. I can't wait to be able to get back into their class and be able to help them with their homework. They are great and they teach me so much.

Sorry this post is so long, but that is the update on my life!! Hang in there and maybe I will do a post with some pics!

When It Rains, It POURS!!
So I don't want to keep everybody wondering if I got into my program or not. I will just tell ya, I was NOT accepted. I don't have a plan B "yet", so you can stay tuned for that now. Haha!

THE FIRST OF MANY MORE DEMOLITION DERBIES!!!!

Last Saturday I went to my first demolition derby. None of my friends down here could believe that I came from a lil small town and hadn't ever been to one. Well when I got there I realized that I hadn't been because Oakley isn't quite that red-neck. (haha!) It gave me quite the entertainment just looking at the people that go to those certain things and how they dress.
There was girls in heels and then there was boys with ripped off sleeves.
If it wasn't one thing it was another
thing. It was quite commical.
I really did enjoy the derby though.
The first round I sat on the

edge of my seat the whole time
and kept freaking out, but I eventually
warmed up into it and was
mad when it was over.
Thanks Kenna for
giving me a little bit of
Logan culture. (haha!)

P.S. I should find out on possibly Tuesday if I made it into the Elementary Education Program! Its been the longest two weeks EVER!!

HYRUM DAM

Well last weekend Alisha, Kenna (friend, and fellow co-worker), her lil boy Conner, and I all decided to go and spend the beautiful overcast day at Hyrum Dam. I refused to put on sunscreen because I don't burn. Well I forget that my body is a little whiter than it usually is because I am stuck inside of a daycare instead of in the hot sun! Well, I got burnt a little bit. No worries now though because it is a golden brown. We had so much fun. It was nice to just relax on the little beach side they had.

Totally love this picture! It is my favorite!
I LOVE to see the TEMPLE!

The other day Amber (roomate) and I walked from the Tabernacle up to the Logan Temple because we were bored. It was right as the sun was going down and the temple looked absolutely gorgeous. They are doing some construction on the front of the temple so it is all blocked off and I had to sadly take pictures through the gate. Its a good thing I have small arms. (haha!) Here are just a few of the ones I took and then Lisha did some of her photo skills on them. I LOVE them!!P.S. This is my roomate Amber. She is from Virginia and I pretty much LOVE her! She has been so fun to live with this summer. I am sad that August 1st is approaching and we will just have to be neighbors instead of roomies.

4th of July!!

I went home for the 4th of July! And can I just say that I have the greatest family ever. I was able to come home Friday morning because there wasn't very many kids at the daycare and so they let me go home instead of go in and work. Summer, my mom, and I went and saw The Proposal and I don't think I have had so much fun before in my life. We were all laughing so hard.
Then on Saturday my family got the privilege of waking up really early and attending the Pella 1st and Pella 2nd breakfast. I love our ward. I don't get to attend it very often, but I always feel so welcome there. I LOVE IT!
Afterwards my mom and I came home and took a nap and then headed into Burley and decided to go shopping because the boys were golfing. (OF COURSE!) I had a blast!
That night we did what we do every year. We got to go to Grandma Reine and Grandpa Bud's for a great dinner and watch the fireworks on the river. I hadn't seen all of my relatives for a while because I am down in Logan for the summer (which I love). I can't believe how big my lil boys are getting. They are growing up way too fast. I love them and miss them so much!Kyler stuck a whole oreo in his mouth!
Jace had to have a picture just like Kyler!

We couldn't get Kyler to do a serious face in our pictures so we did a goofy picture and then he did a serious face. haha!! Jace and Kyler with their HUGE sparklers.

It was great to see the sparkle in my Grandpa's eye of having all of his children and grand-children together. I LOVE MY FAMILY!!
